Three days in a row

So that’s 3 days in a row that the Met office app has been wrong… I mean less than 5% rain means that 95% not rain… which I would take as pretty good odds of not rain.

I’ve said it before, I can understand for other places but in Exeter all they have to do is look out of the window!!!!ā˜”ļøā˜”ļøšŸ™„…maybe it’s glorious sunshine up by the met office, who knows…..

It’s glorious sunshine back home so I’m not dressed or prepared for a cold rainy day. So I’m sitting in the van with my trolley loaded up waiting to see if the rain stops..,šŸ™„ oooh hang on looks like it’s stopped…

Strange day

I was in Newton Abbot today it drizzled all day. I know I always go in about the weather but it’s pretty important to the busker!

Anyway, the town centre was pretty empty – no surprise there, who goes into town unless they have to on a rainy day? Thing is, I was there already, it wasn’t raining hard and I wanted to try out some songs. Also my wonderful husband had restrung my guitar so it was sounding lovely. I’d played maybe 5 songs when an older gentleman took a bad fall in the street. A whole bunch of us went over to help and the paramedics were there shortly. So he was on my mind.

After that it took quite a while to get into my stride. Actually I don’t think I did, between that and the rain it felt almost like I was outside of myself somehow. So I cut it short. Packed up, allowed the guitar to ‘air’ in the van, bought the girl new wellies and some bedding for the gerbils then back home to get the washing in. Some days are like that.

Good times

I dashed out of town, hot footing it with my trolley (no mean feat!) and had 10 minutes to spare … sitting outside of the school in the glorious shade and cool of my van playing my guitar. How many people can say that after work, they happily carry on with ‘work’ just because…. I’m so lucky to have the life I have.

It’s been so hot today (Yey!!) that I’ve needed to tune the guitar just about every song, and the little one needed sunscreen at school so I’ve ended up with a proper comedy suntan!

Anyway I’ve been working on The Smiths, Please please please let me get what I want. I’m playing it in D with the capo on the second unlike the original … we’ll see, I might yet change my mind, Key of D chords suit my guitar better somehow… anyhow here is a slightly out of tune snippet of my pre-school-pick-up noodlings….

Windy City – heaven knows I’m miserable now šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

As I unpacked my stuff from the (shaking) van I was hit by a gust of wind and a load of stuff went bowling down the car park. Worse still my hair was blowing all over the place.😱😳 I CANNOT STAND HAIR IN MY FACE!!! That’s the hole point of the hairdo!

I checked the met office and in the time it had taken to drive into town it had gone from 10% light rain maybe at 12 to 80% heavy rain at 10. So I’ve waited a while in the van and, Here comes the rain again ( love that song).

Not fancying donning the wet weather gear and tying my gear to a a lamppost I’m sacking off the busking today and going home to work on a medley of my favourite songs by The Smiths ….. actually there’s only 2 songs so technically it’s a segue I think … Not a massive fan of The Smiths – (I certainly never had a T Shirt) they write some great music and I love Morrissey’s voice. Please please please let me get what I want and last night I dreamed that somebody loved me are lovely songs … I’ll see if I can get it to work as both are tantalisingly short songs…

So anyway back home for a nice cup of tea ā˜•ļø

Love is in the air ?šŸ’•

I wasn’t even sure I’d go out today; yesterday I felt dreadful all day like I was about to come down with something. I had already decided that if I felt the same I wouldn’t go out today. Just in case I charged a battery and sorted out my clothes…… just as well I did.

I woke feeling a bit better and went into town. I played for a bit on the high street then moved on to the Cathedral Green. I like playing in the green, I mean look at the view!

Anyway it was really quiet on the green to start and I wondered if I should keep going but it was a beautiful day and I was enjoying playing. So to hell with it! For what felt like an age there was no one around and the a few people sat down on the wall, enjoying the long awaited sun.

Now call me Cilla but I think I might have been a bit of a match maker today…. I hope so. A man sat down and then a woman and appeared to be enjoying the songs. After a while they began chatting and they were there for ages (even after I’d stopped)! Now as much as I’d like to think it was the music keeping them there, I think maybe there was a little spark there šŸ’•šŸ’•… oooh I hope so!

I hope they ask me to play at the wedding!! šŸ’šŸ’ƒšŸ»šŸ•ŗšŸ»šŸ’•šŸ’•
